The exhibition grounds become a showcase for digital transformation.Streets, buildings, squares, green spaces, restaurants, parking lots – our smart venue is already a small town. Public life will change with 5G, on our smart venue these changes will become visible and experienceable.
Transparency and public discourse allow a differentiated view of the things that are indispensable for opinion-forming and decision-making.
Smart GridsSupply (energy and water) and disposal systems are enriched with many innovations with 5G technology and offer great opportunities for increasing sustainability and resource conservation.
5G enables the networking of generators, network operators and consumers within local and regional structures.
In addition, 5G promotes the easier implementation of intelligent building technology such as smart metering, heating system control or the monitoring of supply infrastructures such as water and wastewater or ventilation systems.
This facilitates the use of intermodal transport if information on the fastest connection is immediately available for everyone by changing or combining means of transport and the travel chain can be booked online.
In addition, a networked public transport system can react more quickly if there is an increased demand for passenger transport or if a route does not currently have to be used. In combination with intelligent traffic control systems, traffic density and thus inner-city emissions decrease.

These include, for example, networking ambulances to transmit vital data to the hospital, remote treatment and telemonitoring of long-term patients, video-based doctor’s consultations and telemedical consultations between doctors in smaller acute hospitals and specialists in other clinics (teleconsultants), irrespective of the cable-bound hospital infrastructure.

Public Safety5G offers enormous potential for safety authorities
The low latency enables completely new areas of application. For example, helmets with functions such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are a possible advantage for emergency forces.
But virtual features that can be complemented by the cloud-based 5G core network are also a strength and deliver significant added value. In this way, object location, face recognition and person anonymization are integrated as virtual functions into image material captured by existing cameras.
